Right now Chase just upped the bonus for the Chase Ink Bold card to 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points (usually it has been 50,000 points). This is the most generous offer I have ever seen for the Ink Bold. However, you must spend $5,000 in the first 3 months after you are approved. The Ink Bold is a solid card, especially if you purchase a lot of items from office supply stores since you earn 5 points per dollar spent at:
– Wireless/telecom services
– Cable/satellite services
– Office supply stores
You also earn 2 points per dollar for purchases at gas stations, hotels, and motels.
The best thing about the Ink Bold (and Sapphire card) are that you can transfer points from Ultimate Rewards to travel partners including United, Southwest, Korean, and Hyatt at a 1:1 ration. I value United miles at 1.8 cents per mile, so this offer is worth $1,080 just in the sign up bonus!
If I had not just signed up for the Chase Sapphire card recently, I would almost certainly be all over this offer!
